Exemption for Certain Materials from the CPSIA Lead Limits

The new lead limit in toys and children’s products under the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement
Act (CPSIA) has been effective on 10 February 2009. Consumer products intended for children 12 years
of age or under shall not contain more than 600 ppm of lead (the lead limit shall be further reduced to
300 ppm on 14 August 2009 and to 100 ppm on 14 August 2011) in any accessible component part.
