What are Phthalates?
Phthalates are principally added to make stiff plastics softer. Soft PVC may contain 20% to 60% softener (Phthalate). Before the regulation, soft PVC often was used in toys and child care articles.
The best known application of phthalates is to soften PVC. The most often used softener is DEHP.
