Electric Toy Safety Standard EN 62115 fully replaced EN 50088 from 1st January 2008
The electric toy safety standard EN 50088 now has been replaced by EN562115. For the past couple of years the two standards have been running “in parallel”, with either available to be used as parts of demonstrating compliance with the EU Toy Safety Directive.
However, this standards “cross-over” period came to an end on 1st January 2008. As we have passed the date when EN 50088 has been withdrawn, EN 50088 can no longer be used to demonstrate compliance with the Toy Safety Directive. Hence for all electric toys coming onto the EU market after this date compliance with EN 62115 is now required. |
