1 Scope
1.1Theserequirementscovermotor-operatedmassageandexercisemachines,suchasvibrators,
exercisebicycles,vibratingandmassagingchairs,andthelike,aretobeemployedinaccordancewith
theNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.
1.2Theserequirementsalsocovermassageandexercisemachinessuchasvibratorsinwhichmotionof
anoperatingpartisproducedbyelectricalmeans.
1.3Theserequirementsdonotcoverappliancesratedmorethan250volts.
1.4Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferent
fromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisstandard,andthatinvolvesariskoffireorofelectricshock
orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-product
requirementstomaintainthelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisstandard.A
productwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecific
requirementsorprovisionsofthisstandarddoesnotcomplywiththisstandard.Revisionofrequirements
shallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,and
implementationofthisstandard. |
