Items to be tested: All fabrics having a raised fiber surface must be tested unless they are
constructed from 100% of the following fibers or blend of these particular fibers with each other:
Acrylic, Olefin, Modacrylic, Polyester, Nylon, Wool
Clear examples of raised surface fabrics include:
Chamois, Chenille, Corduroy, Fake, Fur, Flannel, Fleece, French Terry, Peached,
Sanded, Sherpa Fleece, Double Sided Terry, Terry/Velour, Velour, Velvet, Velveteen,
schiffly embroidery
All fabrics in any finish and any fiber other than those listed above, weighing less than
2.6 oz/sq.yd (88.4 grams/sq.mtr) and light weight silks weighing less than 20 momme must
be tested.
All fabrics, both plain surfaces and raised-fiber surfaces, regardless of weight, made
entirely from any of the following fibers or entirely from any combination of the following
fibers are exempt for testing : Acrylic, Olefin, Modacrylic, Polyester, Nylon, Wool |
