2.2.1 Material
Insulation shall comply with the requirements of one of the following materials, in
accordance with AS/NZS 3808:

2.6 SHEATH
2.6.1 Material
To operate the conductor at the maximum temperature appropriate for the insulation, the
temperature rating of the outer and/or inner sheath may be less than that of the insulation by
not more than 5°C. For cables with R-S-150 and R-S-200 insulation the maximum
conductor temperature shall be limited to be not higher than 5°C above the maximum
permitted for the selected sheath material.
Sheath shall comply with the requirements of one of the following materials, in accordance
with AS/NZS 3808:

NOTES:
1 For the 250/250 V PVC insulated, unsheathed, parallel-webbed 2-core flat flexible cords with tinsel conductors, the insulation resistance constant (ki) shall be not less than 10 GΩ.m at 20°C and 0.005 GΩ.m at 75°C.
