Could you help this UL transformer approval issue?

We have a class 2 transformer incorporated in one of the household products.
The transformer does not have UL approval(e.g UL listed)

What is the main testing requirement difference in UL between listing as a class 2 transformer and testing as a recognised class 2 transformer? UL1585 requires only the transformer to comply with class 2 charateristic but not have to be UL listed.
