Could not follow LZ's idea. What were you doing as an inspector?
If you just wanted to make money without the least suffering, better learn from Bill Gates and to establish your own business, or you may enter the Stock market to catch your Dog's Day, or buy lottery every day and hopefully, you may got lucky money.
If you have no ideas on the expectations upon your post by your boss, your customers and the stakeholders, better keep away. Some Walmart inspectors were said to be able to buy an apartment in Shanghai just in two years - but those "worms" were just kicked off!
Inspection, like many other disciplines or working types, is just of certain social function. We work, to serve others and to support ourselves. No pains, no gains. If you think what you pained was not duly honored by your gains, better retreat to think of yourself. Age was never a problem, or even an issue. I ever met QC up to 60years of age, but the guy worked very diligently - to whom I gave the highest respect.
