How do you think about the position of an inspector?

This is to share with you - visitors, coworkers - some of my feeling on this position.

Usually the buyer's quality control is called Second party, then the ISP called third party. I used to work as Second party, then now third party. For second party, only after the goods are shipped, will money be acquired, but for third party, money is acquired either goods are released or rejected. Actually this is the biggest difference between second party and third party inspection.

So being a third party inspector, I think the basic principle is CONSCIENCE and DUTY. The money I was paid by my company was from the products I inspected. The customer may not be expert, the factories may not have complete knowledge, so I, the inspector, must try to acquire complete knowledge and available technical/logistic information to give responsible evaluation on the status of the inspected lot. - By now, so many years passed, none of the lots I inspected ever caused recall or claims, I think I am a good inspector.

On the other hand, I am just a worker, somewhat a missionary, i.e. work against the entrusted requirements. The only pity is that sometimes, I have to reject some lots according to customers' requirements, whether the goods are good or not. This happened to some articulous customers, and unfortunately, such jobs are now mainly undertaken by me, to some extent an EXperienced old guy:-((( For such job, if I did not reject the lot, I will be in big trouble.

And little by little, I felt mesmerized, more and more. Now I have been thinking less and less, working more like a ROBOT than a human being. Procedural conformance prevails now in my company and others not so significant as before.

Then I came to know, that IT IS BUT A JOB. I paid my laboring and got paid with money, and with poor promotion. This is my life as an inspector.

I also have the same feeling, at beginning, whatever working or free time, the life is full of energy and happiness, with the time pass by, the repeat of such a simple job makes me more and more torpor and  confusion .
Like chicken rib, barely enough to keep body and soul together~~~
