4.1 Performance Tests
4.1.1 Mattress Pressure / Leak Test: (Inflatable Bed)
The mattress will be fully inflated to a pressure of 12.9 mm Hg (6.9 in H2O). A sheet of 1.2 m x 45.7 cm x 1.9 cm (4.0 ft x 1.5 ft x 0.75 in) board will be centered on the mattress. Three (3) 22.7 kg (50 lb) weights will be distributed on the board.
After 24 hours, the mattress pressure will be no less than 5.2 mm Hg (2.8 in H2O).
4.1.2 Weld Failure Test: (Inflatable Bed)
The mattress will be inflated to a pressure of no less than 67 mm Hg (36 in H2O) without weld or valve failure.
4.1.3 Static Load Test (Twin): (Inflatable Bed)
Inflate each chamber of the mattress to a pressure of 15 in H2O. A sheet of 1.2 m x 45.7 cm x 1.9 cm (4.0 ft x 1.5 ft x 0.75 in) board will be centered on the mattress. Weight totalling 147.4 kg (325 lb) will be distributed on the board.
After 1 hour, there will be no leaks.
4.1.4 Set A Load Test (Twin): (Inflatable Bed)
Inflate each chamber of the mattress to a pressure of 15 in H2O.
A sheet of 1.2 m x 45.7 cm x 1.9 cm (4.0 ft x 1.5 ft x 0.75 in) board will be centered on the mattress. Weight totalling 147.4 kg (325 lb) will be distributed on the board. Suspend the weighted board 2.5 cm (1 in) above the mattress.
The weighted board will be dropped onto the mattress 4500 times at an appropriate rate of between 5 and 40 cycles per minute constantly maintaining 2.5 cm (1.0 in) above the mattress.
At end of test, there will be no leaks.
4.1.5 Drop Test w/ Weight (Twin): (Inflatable Bed)
Inflate each chamber of the mattress to a pressure of 15 in H2O.
A sheet of 1.2 m x 45.7 cm x 1.9 cm (4.0 ft x 1.5 ft x 0.75 in) board will be centered on the mattress. Weight totalling 147.4 kg (325 lb) will be distributed on the board. Suspend the weighted board 15.2 cm (6 in) above the mattress.
The weighted board will be dropped onto the mattress 6 times constantly maintaining 15.2 cm (6.0 in) above the mattress.
At end of test, there will be no leaks. |
