Report to: Country Sourcing Manager (direct-line) & Regional Technical Service Manager – Finishing (dotted-line)
Job Purpose:
Drives execution of plans from development to production at the plant /contractor level to meet strategic objectives and deliver technical development capabilities. Primarily responsible for overseeing GTM developments from proto to production.
Ø
Manage and support the Technical Development needs of denim, non-denim brand requirements.
Ø
Lead development support for seamless formula, developmental cost targets, and product transfer (development to proto) following the NBM calendar at designated finish locations.
Ø
Review formulas with PM/MO and make recommendations for production/estimated cost and placement limitations.
Ø
Troubleshoot and recommend alternatives for processes, chemicals and fabrics, as needed, in cooperation with PM/MO and development locations to insure smooth transition to production programs.
Ø
Lead risk analysis on production issues and recommend solutions to country manager.
Ø
Partner with relevant stakeholders in solving technical problems during bulk production.
Critical Results:
Ø
Validate new development target costs and formulations for PM (fabric/finish developers).
Ø
Coordinate MO technical representation for all brands new development on-site.
Ø
Insure valid formulas and cost templates are generated in Proto/Sales Sample process and are delivered timely to PM.
Ø
Successful replication of finishes/samples to proto-types/Sales Samples at in-country finish locations and in production
Ø
Provide a venue to share/review new finishes/fabrics/processes with MO regional organization to insure successful implementation of production programs.
Ø
Effective support that allows contractors to meet emerging requirements – production, product evaluation, quality.
Ø
New contractor plants effectively transformed into a reliable source in line with LS&CO supply chain standards to execute products and services
Ø
Timely approval of all dupes and bulk production
Ø
Effective resolution of production issues with total impact and recommendations in place to address root cause
Requirements:
Ø
Background on Textile dyeing and finishing academic in BSc or related qualification
Ø
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in garment finishing development and execution (denim and non-denim) and solid working experience in laundry environment
Ø
Good command of written and spoken in English and mandarin.
Ø
Comprehensive knowledge of laundry dry and wet process, laundry chemical / dyestuff, knowledge of textile wet process is definitely an advantage.
Ø
Willingness to travel when necessary to laundry in different parts of China |
