Job Description
? In essence the merchandiser is to review our product enquires and thenfind appropriate suppliers for these products and then to negotiate the price,quality and delivery for each of our enquiries, review the supplier’scapability to supply our orders for our consideration.
? Once the order is confirmed they would need to monitor production byonsite inspection visit and take any required corrective action to ensure thatour order is produced and shipped as per the terms and conditions of ourpurchase order.
? They would also need to coordinate the supplier audit, laboratorytesting and final random inspection with our inspection company and thesupplier and coordinate for the shipment of our order with our supplier and ourfreight forwarder.
?The merchandiser is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating theprice, quality and delivery terms with the supplier, monitoring the production,coordinating the inspection and shipment of our orders.
1, SOURCESUPPLIERS
? The merchandiser is to source suppliers of products we are interestedin purchasing.
? The purchaser is to review our product enquiries and then find appropriatesupplier’s products and then to negotiate the price, quality and delivery termsfor each of our enquiries.
? They are also to conduct a review of the supplier’s capability tosupply our orders and forward us this review for our consideration.
2,FOLLOW-UP OF ORDERS
? The merchandiser ensures the follow up of orders from receipt of ourorder until delivery to our customer’s warehouses.
1)Before Production
? Check validate orders
? Ask Performa invoice from suppliers.
? Validate the sample with the buyer
? Validate the packaging with the buyer
? Monitor the sample approval process to ensure that the approvalprocess proceeds to schedule and that client’s comments regarding the approvalis accurately communicated to the supplier.
2)During Production
? Monitor production by an onsite inspection visit, and if required askthe supplier to take corrective action, to ensure that our order is producedand shipped as per the terms and conditions of our purchase order.
? You will need to coordinate the Supplier Audit and/or Final RandomInspection with our inspection agency and supplier.
? You will need to be required to coordinate the shipment of the finalorder with the supplier and our freight forwarder.
? You will need to anticipate and solve problems during the orderprocess and provide reports to the company detailing the nature of these problemsfor their review
Requirements
? Degree holder in Business Administration, International Trade orrelated field.
? Minimum 3-5 years experience in relevant sourcing and product developmentpositions.
?
Engineering/ Quality Control experienceis an advantage.
? Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
? Possess an extensive sourcing network and excellent relationships withvendors.
? Excellent knowledge of product cost breakdown and production process.
? Suitable candidates must be knowledgeable in a wide range of consumergoods.
? An analytical and strategic thinker who efficient organized, attentiveto detail.
? Passion for excellence with high integrity, commitment to quality,good in oral and written in English and Mandarin, willing to take frequenttravel (about 30%) around China and work with suppliers
