Introduction
IKEA Components is a trader of raw material and furniture components and contributes to IKEA by offering
the IKEA suppliers quality- and environmentally secured components of the right quality to a low price. The
business includes development of new concepts for components, purchase, distribution and sales as well
as packaging of fitting bags. By taking advantage of the economies of scale that follow the growth and
expansion of IKEA we are creating competitive solutions for the IKEA suppliers.
Assignment
-Secure I Components TQE&F demands on the suppliers and products.
-Conducts product audits.
-Secure and improve packaging.
-Responsible for claim and corrective action handling.
-Contribute to the business development within the team.
-Secures product documentation with supplier.
-Support the start-up, development and discontinuation of articles and suppliers.
-Support the suppliers in fulfilling the IWAY requirements.
-Optional tasks depending on role/situation. I.e. if Product & Development Technician is available
-Work with cost improvements (product and production improvements).
-Actively work with technical and material development.
Competence
Knowledge
-A good knowledge of the different production processes and metal/plastic material characteristics/performance.
-Able to work with and understand suppliers daily operational activities.
-Good Knowledge of Quality and Environmental management systems.
-Able to audit and analyse suppliers working methods in quality, working conditions and environmental performance.
-A good understanding of the local and international legislation in his/her product area with regard to environmental, health and safety, and material/article laws.
-Good knowledge in handling measuring equipments.
-Good knowledge in Microsoft office.
-Fluent oral and written English.
-Good knowledge in reading and understanding product documentation.
Optional tasks depending on role/situation. I.e. if Product & Development Technician is available
-Good knowledge about cost drivers in production.
-Understand how the I Componenets product range meets the customer's requirements.
Capabilities/Motivation
-A field operator with the ability to organise, set responsibilities and work unsupervised.
-The ability to set goals, implement and follow up.
-The ability to work with and through others.
-Improvement driven, with a “hands on” practical approach to his/her work.
-A good communicator.
-Pro-active and methodical.
-Ability to travel 7-15 days per month.
