In June 2009, the IECEE made a decision that Lithium Ion (and nickel Metal Hydride) Batteries used in all types of equipment and appliances should comply with the IEC Standard 62133.

Manufacturers have until June 27, 2011 for transition. The decision and the implementation timetable are subject to review in June 2010.

From June 26, 2010 until June 26, 2011, LI batteries tested to the UL standard 1642 must be subjected to additional testing to the identified differences between UL 1642 and IEC 62133.
From June 27, 2011, batteries must be tested and certified to IEC 62133 only.

以后二次电池（包括带有二次电池的产品）都要符合标准IEC62133的要求。

电池通过UL测试的，在2011年6月27日之前需要补做UL标准跟IEC62133的差异测试。
