1. all day and everyday
指一段时间里，不断地，不停地做一件事
例如：I have to be active—I couldn't sit around all day and everyday, now that I'm retired.
我得活动活动，现在退休了，不能天天这么呆着。
2. any day(now)
随时，很快，就这两天
如：Mary's baby is expected any day now.
玛丽的孩子这几天就要出生了。
3. any day of the week
表示喜爱的程度，肯定自己的看法“绝对，怎么都行”
如：I don't like coffee. I'd rather have a cup of tea any day of the week.
我不爱喝咖啡。什么时候我都爱喝茶。
4.Good day
这句话是一天里随时可以说的问候语，与hello/hi意思相近
如：G'day,mate. How're you doing?
哥们好啊，怎么样啊?
5.in all my/his...born days
表示强调和惊讶“我这辈子，长这么大……”
如：I've never heard such nonsense in all my born days.
我这辈子还没听过这么无聊的话呢
6.It's all in a day's work.
分内的事，每天该做的事
如：-Fireman,thank you for getting my cat down out of that tree.
-Oh, no. It's all in a day's work.
-消防员，谢谢你把我的猫从那棵树上弄下来。
-没什么，不用谢，这是我应该做的。
7. It's early days yet...
表示下结论为时过早，还没到时候
如：It's early days yet to let the world know the result.
现在让外界知道(研究)成果还尚早。
8.It's not my/his...day.
表示“今天真不吉利”。
如：It's just not my day: the car wouldn't start; I was late for the meeting, and to crown it all I sprained my ankle.
我今天真不顺当，先是车打不着火，接着会议迟到，更糟的是把脚崴了。
9. Let's call it a day.
(多指工作)差不多了，收工了
如：All right,mate. Let's call it a day.
好了，伙计。就这样，收工吧。
10. That will be the day.
要是有那么一天就好了。
如：-When I have a lot of money, I'll buy you a new car...
-That'll be the day.
-等我有钱了，就给你买辆新车...
-要是有那么一天就好了 |
