On Novermber 10, 2010, the USA Department of Commerce initiated a countervailing duty investigation to determine whether producers/exporters of multi-layer wood flooring (engineered wood flooring) from the People's Republic of China have benefited from countervailable subsidiaries bestowed by the government of PRC. The Department initiated the investigation based on a petition filed by the Coalition for American Hardwood Parity, on behalf of the United States industry producing the merchandise under investigation. In fact, the investigation already been preliminarily done during Jan 01 - Dec 31, 2009.
Now the final stage is coming, as the issuance of the full countervailing duty would be decided soon for final legal verdict.
Section 776 of the Tariff Act of 1930 would be imposed if the case is closed with disadvantage against Chinese producers/exporters. |
