Specification: Plastic Bag Suffocation Warning

1.0 General.

1.1 Scope. All plastic bags with a flat opening of seven (7) inches or larger must comply with this specification.

2.0 Requirements.

2.1 Material. Bag must be minimum thickness of .0015 (1.5 mil).

2.2 Printing. Bags must be printed as follows:

2.2.1 Color. Black

2.2.2 Letter Height. Minimum 1/8” letter height (lower case)

2.3 Perforation. When contents of the bag allow, the bag is to be perforated with ¼ inch diameter holes to further reduce the risk of suffocation.

2.4 Translations. If the translations in 4.0 are not used as is, an equivalent translation approved in writing by the Project Engineer can be used. All the translated words must be complete for all languages on the bag.

3.0 Warnings.

3.1 Warnings are grouped for convenience. Combinations of groups or individual translations may be used according to the country requirements of the product per Marketing and Engineering agreement.

4.0 Translations.

4.1 English. WARNING: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use this bag in cribs, beds, carriages, or playpens. This bag is not a toy.

4.2 Italian. AVVERTENZA: per evitare pericolo di soffocamento, tenere questa busta di plastica lontano da neonati e bambini. Non usare questa busta in culle, letti, carrozzine e box. Questa busta non è un giocattolo.

4.3 German. WARNUNG: Um Erstickungsgefahr zu vermeiden, ist dieser Platikbeutel von Babies und Kindern fernzuhalten. Diesen Beutel nicht in Kinderbetten, Betten, Kinderwagen oder Laufställchen verwenden. Der Beutel ist kein Spielzeug.

4.4 Canadian French. AVERTISSEMENT : Pour éviter le danger de suffocation, conserver ce sac en plastique loin des bébés et des enfants. Ne pas utiliser ce sac dans les berceaux, lits, voitures d’enfants ou parcs. Ce sac n’est pas un jouet.

4.5 Parisian French. AVERTISSEMENT : Pour éviter le danger de suffocation, conserver ce sac en plastique loin des bébés et des enfants. Ne pas utiliser ce sac dans les berceaux, lits, landaux ou parcs. Ce sac n’est pas un jouet.

4.6 Latin American Spanish and Castillan Spanish. ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar el peligro de sofocación, mantenga esta bolsa de plástico lejos de bebes y niños. No use esta bolsa en cunas, camas, carros de bebes o corrales. Esta bolsa no es un juguete.

4.7 Dutch. WAARSCHUWING: Deze plastic zak uit de buurt van babys en kinderen houden om verstikkingsgevaar te voorkomen. Deze zak niet in wiegen, bedden, kinderwagens of boxen gebruiken. Deze zak is geen speelgoed.

4.8 Swedish. VARNING: Kvävningsrisk - håll plastpåsen borta från barn och spädbarn. Påsen får inte användas i babysäng, eller annan sorts säng, barnvagn eller lekhage. Denna påse är inte en leksak.

4.9 Portuguese. CUIDADO: Para evitar o perigo de asfixia, mantenha este saco plástico longe de bebês e crianças. Não use este saco em berços, camas, carrinhos de bebê ou cercados. Este saco plástico não é um brinquedo.
