IPC stands for INITIAL Production :
This inspection is a check on the keycharacteristics of products during their production. In general, thisinspection takes place when approximately 10-20% of total orderquantity is produced. Depending on the product and the manufacturingprocess, the IPC may cover raw materials, partially completed products,and/or finished products and their packaging. Production status isverified at this stage.
This means that the inspection must focus on:
- The means of production
- Raw material
- The conformity of the first product ready and of the semi-products
An IPC is performed when the production just started. It is compulsory to have less than 20% of the products finished and packed but the production must have started already.
If there are more than 20% of the products packed you must write an important remark.
Raw materials checking:
- Quantity of raw material is enough to produce?
- How are the raw materials stored?
Semi-finished and production status product:
- What is the quantity for the finished product with package?
- What is the quantity for the finished product without package?
- What is the quantity for the semi-made product?
- What is the quantity for the product on the production line?
Production line condition:
Please take the photos for all manufacturing process-step by step.
What is the daily production capacity for factory?
When can the complete order quantity be finished?
What quality problem do you find during inspection?
All those questions must be answered and
3. Conditions and specificities of a DUPRO
DUPRO stands for During Production Check. This special type of inspection
This means that the inspection must focus on:
- The production line
- Semi-finished products
- The conformity of the product and packaging.
A DUPRO is performed in the middle of the production.
It is compulsory to have between 20% and 80%
You should NOT just select the samples from the packed cartons, you should select the products from the packed cartons AND the finished goods but not packed. Thefinished product means that it need not additional processes(e.g.thread end trimming, gate trimming for plastic products) exceptpacking, packing is the last process for the product.
For example, if you need do a Dupro inspection withinspection level II, the order quantity is 30,000pcs, but actually only28,000pcs are finished, 180pcs are packed, you need inspect 200pcs not32pcs, you need select the samples from both the packed and finishedbut not packed products. |
