Manufacturers have until June 27, 2011 for transition. The decision and the implementation timetable are subject to review in June 2010.
From June 26, 2010 until June 26, 2011, LI batteries tested to the UL standard 1642 must be subjected to additional testing to the identified differences between UL 1642 and IEC 62133.
From June 27, 2011, batteries must be tested and certified to IEC 62133 only.
