A very experienced person in Textile and Garment QC
Minimum of 8 years related experience
Experience in managing a team and training junior QC people
A hands-on, get involved, lead by example mentality. Someone prepared to go to factories with junior staff, not just lead from behind a desk.
Focus on South China suppliers for now
Take on some Office Manager responsibilities
Sub ordinates – a minimum of 3 people who will also need training and coaching
Manage the development and quality control process through the corporate calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and products are made to standard.
Work together with the office manager to monitor the bulk critical path and ensure that goods are made to schedule and standard.
Manage the team across all factories in Southern China to carry out in-line and final inspections to meet company’s pre-determined quality standards.
Manage the schedule to ensure all factories are visited weekly and all reports submitted to merchandisers to update UK office.
Make decision on whether quality is acceptable to ship.
Manage process for all approval samples and pre-production samples.
Manage the QC process of salesman samples.
Job requires regular travel to factories to work with and train factories to company standard as well as train company’s QC staff. (This role is not all office based)
Work alongside the office manager, to ensure all targets on quality and delivery performance are met.
Reporting to Buying Director and Buying Office Manager.
